Mrs. Marina Alcantar-Gomez, TSP Coordinator and English Learner Designee

Hello!

I’m Marina Alcantar-Gomez, the TSP Advisor and English Learner Designee at Lillian Street School. In my role, I provide professional development that helps bring the English Learner Master Plan to life. My work includes guiding the implementation of:

• English Learner Instructional Program Options
  
  
• The identification and placement of English Learners (ELs)
  
  
• The reclassification criteria process and procedures
  
  
• Effective instruction and intervention services for ELs
  
  
• Both Designated and Integrated ELD (English Language Development)
  
  

I also collaborate closely with teachers and the principal to ensure our professional development plan and intervention services align with the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), all while meeting the unique linguistic and academic needs of our ELs. Additionally, I facilitate grade-level and department meetings where we analyze EL assessment data, review student work, discuss classroom observations, share best practices, identify student needs, and plan differentiated instruction.
